Going Large at Surrey Sports Park

Situated only a stone’s throw from Bluedot Display, Surrey Sports Park is a state-of-the-art sports complex and training venue with a range of facilities including a 50 metre, 8 lane Olympic swimming pool, 120 station gymnasium, a variety of indoor and outdoor sports courts, and the Surrey Summit NICAS approved indoor climbing facility boasting up to 12m high climbing walls with over 65 roped routes.

The sports park is a key fitness and training centre for Surrey residents and top UK athletes. It is home to both the Surrey Storm Netball and Surrey Scorchers Basketball teams. When Surrey Sports Park approached us to update their signage and advertising materials, we were delighted to help.

Whipping up a storm at Surrey Sports Park

Although this project involved many elements, a large proportion of the promotional material we printed and installed was for the Surrey Storm Netball Team. One of the top teams in the highly competitive Netball Super League.

Using great imagery provided by Surrey Storm, we created a variety of large format full colour printed graphics and signage for use both inside and outside the sports park. Large Fomex boards, depicting Storm players and providing information about the team, were printed for walls, display stands, and partitions in the hospitality area.

Large format posters, featuring a variety of imagery and slogans were printed to fit the windows of the Pitchside Café, and self-adhesive graphics were created for the arena turnstiles. We also created a large portable roller banner, with great imagery of the players, to welcome visitors to the home of “Bartercard Surrey Storm” and direct them to the arena and fan zone.

Quickly refreshing outdoor signage with printed vinyl graphics

The final part of the project involved updating some existing signs and installing large Dibond signs for outdoor areas around the park. Hardwearing self-adhesive graphics were applied to update the Surrey Storm next home game sign, with space to add and regularly update match details. We also created a colourful vinyl graphic for the Swim Academy to advertise their “learn to swim with confidence” lessons for children and adults.

We created new Dibond signs, with Bluedot Display branding, thanking people for visiting the sports park and making them aware of the fantastic range of large format printing and signage services we provide. Dibond is a fantastic material for outdoor signs and advertising hoardings, being both lightweight and very strong. The material it will not warp in high temperatures and can withstand the worst of the British weather. As new self-adhesive graphics can be simply applied to the surface, it is also easy and cost effective to update messaging and graphics as required.
